Did you ever get in trouble for doodling in class?

Tell us about the time you got busted for doodling or as we call it at RandomLine, “squiggling” in class. When I was in school, and I’m talking about my entire school days from first grade to 12th grade . . . I doodled all the time (hence the SQUIGGLE doodle pads). My notebooks were littered with doodling graffiti. I was once told to go sit in the hall way for the entire period for expressing my creativity on the chalkboard before class started. Yeah, I was that kid who thought it was funny to draw an inappropriate picture to get a laugh from each peer as they walked in the room. I quickly learned and changed my style from shock value to a more toned down graffiti . . . bubble letters! I was the master at writing someone’s name in bubble letters, then spending hours detailing it with drop shadows, shading, textures and colors.

There are numerous studies out there that say, doodling makes you smarter, doodling helps you focus, doodling may curve daydreaming . . . what do you think? Give us your opinion about doodling in class.

Stop doodling and pay attention!
